Maria Giovanna Bianco is an Assistant Professor in Applied Medical Technology and Methodology at the Neuroscience Research Center, Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro, Italy. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical and Computer Science Engineering in 2016. From 2014 to 2015, she was a visiting scientist at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada. Her research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applied to neuroimaging and neuropsychological data for the differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases. She has specific expertise in segmenting and classifying structural MRI images for the automatic detection of morphometric biomarkers. Additionally, her work includes developing and implementing new approaches for biomedical signal processing (EMG, EEG, ECoG, and LFP) and pattern recognition from wearable medical devices. She is a reviewer for several scientific journals (MDPI) and serves as a Guest Editor for a Special Issue in the Journal of Applied Sciences (MDPI).
